President Richard Nixon (Tricky Dick) declared the 'war on drugs' on June 17 1971. This was 4 days after the New York Times had begun printing the Pentagon Papers.

Nixon was president from January 1969 until forced to resign for his many totalitarian crimes August 9, 1974. His first vice-president, Spiro Agnew, had previously been forced to resign for his crimes. These two famous hypocrites spouted off about "law and order." Nixon was famous for labeling his supporters the "the silent majority." 

Nixon set the tone for the last 30+ years of the drug war, but it was Republican President Ronald (6) Wilson (6) Reagan (6) who vastly escalated the drug war and the rhetoric. And now it seems another Evil Republican President, George W. Bush, has put new meaning into the phrase "silent majority." In fact, Bush got elected in 2000 in large part because of the silenced majority of drug-war-disenfranchised voters (voting rights taken away). These voters were silenced due to Republican-sponsored (for the most part) felony disenfranchisement laws.

Millions of disenfranchised drug war felons in and out of prison are no longer allowed to vote. These Republican-led laws have been extended to college funding, so that those convicted of drug offenses, even cannabis misdemeanors, can't get government loans or grants. Welcome to the Evil Republican apartheid dictatorship.

The head of the Beast is the Republican Party. The tail of the Beast is the Democrat Party. The corporate head wags the bureaucrat tail of the Beast. U.S. Drug-war Prison Industrial Complex. Republican evil, Democrat complicity.

*Bush coup d'etat by illegal disenfranchisement (no voting rights). Around 600 votes in Florida won the November 2000 U.S. presidential election. BBC, London Observer, March 9 2001 report of US Commission on Civil Rights, Congressional Black Caucus, Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund, etc. paint big picture of illegal disenfranchisement of tens of thousands of Florida voters. Especially blacks, Puerto Ricans, poor whites. By claiming falsely that they had previous felonies that prevented them from voting. Voters that normally vote mostly Democrat. Blacks voted 9 to 1 for Democrat Gore. Also, legal Florida disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of felons via racist Republican drug laws. Laws enacted with the help of far-right NRA lobbying for mandatory-minimum felony sentencing for both violent and non-violent (such as drug possession) felony offenses.

And stop kissing Republican ass, you Democrat corporate slaves, and boot-licking corporate Uncle Toms. Both Republican and Democrat politicians are just the "gophers" (as in go for this and go for that) for the major shareholders of major corporations, especially the mega-media conglomerates.

Most major shareholders are irresponsible, whining, Republican, yuppie scum who happened to win at the investment and/or inheritance lottery. They need to pull their heads out of their asses and take a course in socially responsible investing. Here it is:
